How to judge a dispensary

Every shop calls itself the best. These are the things you can check before you spend money.

• Test results on the label. Montana labeling rules require the tested THC and THCa percentages on every flower package, and the rules for edibles and concentrates carry their own potency figures. If a shop cannot show you the number for the batch in the case, that is your answer.
• Potency you can verify. A claim like "strong flower" means nothing. A claim like "this eighth tested at 32.4% THCa" is on the label and you can read it yourself.
• Selection that is actually in stock. A long menu with half the items out of stock is a short menu. Ask to see the case, or check a live menu that reads from the register.
• Prices posted. Per gram, per eighth, per unit, before tax, where you can see them.
• Hours that hold. A store that is open when you get off work is worth more than a store with a nicer sign.
• Staff who answer questions. What the number on the label means, what the difference between two eighths is, what a first purchase should look like. Straight answers, not a pitch.

What Silverleaf is not

• It is one building. There is no second location.
• It does not deliver. You shop in the store, or you order ahead on the live menu and pick up at the counter.
• It takes payment at the counter. The ordering system does not take payment online, and it lists cash.
• It is not the closest shop to every part of town. The Great Falls area pages give the drive time from where you are.
