Concentrates are cannabis extracts with the plant material removed, leaving a much more potent product. Shatter, wax, badder, budder, and crystalline are all concentrates, named for their texture.

Texture, mostly, which comes from how the extract was processed after extraction. Shatter is glassy and brittle, wax is soft and opaque, badder is whipped smooth.
